DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS

The department is responsible for the Coordination of budgets preparation, handling of all matters that relate to Finance and Accounts, payment of salaries and allowances as well as other sundry charges for recurrent and capital expenditures, records-keeping of Income and Expenditure, financial reconciliation on weekly and monthly basis, preparation of Final Accounts, and other financial tasks as may be necessary.

 

ü  Query and to promptly deal with all queries, from internal audit unit, inspectorate department, Office of the Auditor-General and Public Accounts Committee and other such bodies.

 

DUTIES: DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS

 


ü  Ensuring the existence of an effective audit query unit to promptly deal with all queries from internal audit unit, inspectorate department, office of the Auditor-General and public Accounts committee and other such bodies.  Ensuring timely preparation of final accounts/financial statements.

ü  Ensuring compliance with financial instructions and accounting codes by all staff.

ü  Ensuring the existence of an effective audit.
